Thomas Jenkins as Jonny Warner in "Zombie Prom." "Zombie Prom" was Essy's first experience directing a full-length musical. Through Kansas City program Stage Right Performing Arts, she led seventy kids aged 11-15 through a summer theatre program that ended with a full-length, full-budget musical production. She won Best Director of a Non-Professional Production at the BroadwayKC Awards for her work.
